Kurt Zatloukal

Kurt Zatloukal is founder and CEO of Zatloukal Innovations GmbH. He is Professor of Pathology and head of Diagnostics and Research Center for Molecular Biomedicine at the Medical University of Graz, Austria. Fields of expertise range from basic research in molecular pathology of metabolic diseases and cancer to biobanking and quality management which includes the contribution to several ISO Standards related to in vitro diagnostic devices, research on high risk pathogens and drug development.

Bernhard Zatloukal
CIO

Bernhard Zatloukal is co-founder and CIO of Zatloukal Innovations GmbH. He is Senior Software Developer at fragmentiX Storage Solutions GmbH. His fields of expertise are secure data storage solutions, implementation of cryptographic algorithms and IT security in general. He was involved in the design and implementation of several studies concerning securing sensitive medical data at rest and in transit. He studied Mathematics at the Technical University of Graz.

Johannes Zatloukal
Project Management

Johannes Zatloukal is co-founder of Zatloukal Innovations GmbH. He is a student at the University of Pécs Medical School in Hungary and part of a dermatological research team at the Medical University of Graz. He is experienced with team coordination and project management in cooperation with international companies. Due to his activities at the Institute of Dermatology and Venereology in Graz he is conversant with data analyses and AI development in a medical context.

Josef Glössl
Molecular Farming and Scientific Advisor

Josef Glössl is Professor emeritus of Applied Genetics and Cell Biology at the University of Natural Resources and Life Sciences, Vienna (BOKU), Austria. His scientific background is in cell biology, genetics, glycobiology and biotechnology with a focus on plant biotechnology. In 1999 he initiated research on glyco-engineering in plants at BOKU finally resulting in nowadays widely distributed Nicotiana benthamiana plant lines genetically adapted for the expression of biopharmaceuticals, e.g., antibodies for human medical use. Currently he is Member of the International Advisory Council for Global Bioeconomy (IACGB), Deputy Chair of the University Council of the Medical University of Innsbruck and member of the Council for Science and Research of the Austrian Federal State of Carinthia. Most recently, Josef Glössl is a member of the Austrian-based international founders team for Medicines for Future (M4F).

Markus Sack
Plant Molecular Farming Advisor

Markus Sack started his work in Plant Molecular Farming in 1995 and pioneered the rapid and scalable Agrobacterium-mediated transient gene expression. He was involved in progressing a tobacco-derived HIV antibody 2G12 into clinical phase I trials and in several projects for producing HIV and Rabies antibodies, and novel Malaria vaccine candidates by various Plant Molecular Farming systems. He is experienced in human antibody repertoires, continuous fermentation of plant suspension cells, the “plant-cell pack” technology and SPR analysis. For more than 20 years he has been involved in setting up Agro-infiltration R&D laboratories across the world and increasing scale and throughput to support product screening and development and purification of plant-derived proteins. Since August 2019 he is CEO of Pro-SPR GmbH, a start-up consulting for SPR assay development and validation and Plant Molecular Farming in general.

Werner Strasser
IT Security Advisor

After 25 years of entrepreneurship in the IT during which he founded ProCom-Strasser GmbH, Werner Strasser founded the Austrian based fragmentiX Storage Solutions GmbH in July 2018 where he develops and produces quantum safe storage solutions in close cooperation with the AIT – Austrian Institute of Technology. Due to his professional experience as an IT security and IT forensic expert for several branches of the Austrian government he has a broad understanding of the importance of privacy problems which is the main reason why he devotes his working life to foster his vision of digital sovereignty not only for corporate and government organisations but also for individuals. He enjoys his unpaid voluntary teaching position for cyber recruits in “Digital Forensics” at the CDRC / Academy of the Austrian Armed Forces
